Sarah Why

DIETITIAN

I provide a non-diet approach to nutrition and health that aims to support and empower individuals to make sustainable dietary and behaviour changes.

Nutrition isn’t just about food, it is about our relationship with food based on experiences, lifestyle, culture and health conditions. I work collaboratively with clients to uphold their values surrounding food to tailor dietary changes and improve quality of life.

Working from a non-diet approach means, we focus on other markers of health to meet your goal. Enhancing your relationship with food and understanding of nutrition promotes not just a balanced and satisfying way of eating, but also improves body image concerns and mental and physical health.

With a background as a Credentialed Eating Disorder Dietitian and Certified Fertility Dietitian, I combine current nutrition science, trauma-informed care, and nutrition counselling to help individuals move through dietary changes to improve their health, with a better understanding of their strengths, support and barriers.

My aim is to leave my clients with the skills and knowledge to use independently through the life stages. My approach to practise is to always be curious, openminded and supportive. I work within a feminist frame-work that prides itself in inclusivity and challenging the status quo. I bring with me an understanding of trauma-informed care, psychological interventions and mental health training to support individuals in a multi-disciplinary team.

I look forward to supporting your nutrition journey at GrayMind Psychology.
