Dr Andi Alperin

PRINCIPAL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST | BOARD APPROVED SUPERVISOR | CREDENTIALED EATING DISORDER CLINICIAN

When somebody comes to see me, my goal is to provide you with a space to reflect, to explore, to try new things, to learn about yourself, and most of all to feel heard and understood without judgement. My therapeutic approach uses humour, openness, flexibility, and empathy to help you feel comfortable and free to be yourself. I will learn about you as a person - your values, your strengths, and areas in which you would like support. Together, we will work collaboratively to take steps towards achieving your goals.

I have experience working with people from all walks of life and with complex presentations. I draw upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, and together we can talk about which approach may suit you best. I have also had additional training in supporting adults with eating disorders. I look forward to working together with you to support you in building the life you’d like to lead here at GrayMind Psychology.

Professional Supervision

I also offer supervisory services to provisional, general and clinical psychologists. As a supervisor, I am personable, non-judgemental, and excited to learn more about you and your therapeutic style. My focus is on helping you develop skills both in therapeutic intervention and in the process of therapy. This could involve teaching specific skills and understanding your blind spots, how you influence your client and vice versa, and the impact this has on the intervention and its delivery. As an experiential therapist, I value an active learning style which may involve experiential work and rehearsal as well as talking. I am currently accepting new supervisees.
