Tessa Pyman
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
As your therapist, my goal is to create a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your emotions and thoughts, as well as underlying beliefs and patterns that may be interfering with you leading the life you would find fulfilling.
I am passionate about and experienced in providing evidence based interventions to people with a range difficulties in their lives. I use a casual, warm and empathetic approach to therapy, where I work with you to achieve your goals and embody your values. I will work with you to explore where your difficulties have come from, and the patterns in your life that are barriers.
I have a history of working in forensic mental health services, where I developed experience with severe and complex mental health issues, complex and developmental trauma, substance use difficulties and personality disorders. My primary focus is in Schema Therapy, which is an evidence based intervention for people with long standing difficulties, including experiences of childhood, attachment, relational and complex trauma; personality disorders; and long term anxiety and mood challenges.
I integrate an attachment framework and therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills and Emotion Focused Therapy. As a member of the queer community, I aim to provide a safe and affirming space for people of all sexualities and genders.
I am eager to work with you there at GrayMind Psychology.
