ADHD Assessments

Our ADHD assessment process can help determine whether an individual meets the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. GrayMind offers Assessments for adults and adolescents who may be experiencing differences in their executive functioning skills, such as attention and concentration, task initiation and completion, planning and organisation skills, working memory, impulsivity, emotion regulation and hyperactivity.

The assessment process involves an intake interview, behavioural observations, completion of various questionnaires about ADHD and direct testing of cognition, memory and/or executive functioning. You will be provided with a report of the outcome and recommendations in how to manage these differences.

    • Session 1: An initial interview (1 hour). The initial interview is designed to gather comprehensive background information such as your developmental, social and educational history.

    • Session 2: Following this, a second session designed for further information and to conduct screening  (1 hour).

    • Session 3: During the third session, the DIVA-5 will be administered and explored comprehensively with your psychologist (2 hours).

    • Session 4: Finally, you have a feedback session with your assessment clinician who will explain your results and recommendations (1 hour)

    • Your psychologist will also review school reports, previous assessments or liaise with other allied health professionals who support you (1 hour).

Your psychologist will then triangulate all information gathered and provide a report depending on your goals and outcomes.

GrayMind offers two different report packages a 'Summary Report' and a 'Comprehensive Report'. See below for more detail.

    • A 'Summary Report' is helpful for those wishing to clarify their symptoms and would like to provide additional information to other members of their care team e.g., your intervention psychologist.

    • A 'Comprehensive Report' is recommended if you are intending on applying for any financial assistance (NDIS) or for your psychiatrist if you are intending on pharmacological treatment.

    • Total Cost of Assessment and A Subsequent Summary Report: $1440

    • Total Cost of Assessment and A Subsequent Comprehensive Report: $2240

Please note that there is no Medicare rebate available for our ADHD assessment.

Payment plans are available. Payment is required in full before the report is provided to you.
